The Swamp is a veteran three-person improv team known for smart, fast-paced, and character-rich comedy. Kate Duffy, Ryan Archibald, and Jim Carlson met over 20 years ago performing at Chicago’s legendary Second City, iO, and The Annoyance theaters, and have been improvising together ever since. Their shows begin with a single audience suggestion and spiral into 45 minutes of tightly woven, fully improvised scenes—often strange, always funny. With a shared rhythm honed over decades, they build entire worlds on the spot, jumping between characters and storylines with sharp timing and playful precision.

USS IMPROVISE: A MUSICAL STAR TREK IMPROV PARODY (Portland) - musical improv

The crew of the USS Improvise bring to life the characters from the classic (and arguably, best) Star Trek series; Star Trek: The Next Generation in a never before seen parody episode completely improvised on the spot. What mission does this plucky crew set forth into strange new worlds with? How does this universally diverse crew solve the problems of the cosmos? Oh, and did we mention it is a musical?!

ROSS BRYANT is an actor and writer in Los Angeles. He appears regularly on Dropout TV, and is an ensemble member of The Improvised Shakespeare Company (Largo) and Baby Wants Candy (UCB). Ross performed for many years in Chicago where he was a member of the resident cast of The Second City Mainstage. He has performed improvisation at The Kennedy Center, The 92Y, Just For Laughs, Bonnaroo, SF Sketchfest, Outside Lands and the Ford Amphitheater. Ross wrote for the most recent season of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and has sold original pilots to PopTV, Warner Bros and Showtime. TV credits include The Good Place (NBC), Crashing (HBO), I Think You Should Leave (Netflix), Wild n'Out (MTV), and more.
