What you’ll learn
If you love movies and TV, and want to bring that cinematic flavor into your improv scenes (and any format your team is working on) — this class is for you!
In this class you'll learn how to use genre tropes (rom-com, murder mystery, sci-fi, and more) to create scenes that are both hilarious and grounded.
We’ll work on:
- Committing to the world of genre with recurring tropes and archetypes.
- Heightening your scenes through embracing the visual and emotional logic of a rom-com, murder mystery, sci-fi and more.
- Acting truthfully and staying grounded while using genre tropes.
- Strengthening your narrative sense of pacing, tension, and resolution.

About me
I’m a Peruvian comedian based in Washington, DC, and I’ve been doing improv comedy for over 15 years. Over that time, I’ve been fortunate to receive multiple comedy awards, teach and perform in more than 20 cities across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, and get millions of views online through my comedic work. I’ve also had the honor of being featured on major comedy podcasts like Earwolf’s improv4humans with Matt Besser and Improv Nerd with Jimmy Carrane.
If you’re looking to sharpen your skills, get real reps with feedback, and learn from someone who lives and breathes improv, I’d love to work with you in this class.
