Advanced Longform: Bring the concepts you learned in Level 1 with you into Maine Improv Studio's Advanced Improv Class! This session will utilize the skills you've honed and use them to explore the artform through a deeper lens. With a focus on stronger game moves, identifying threads & themes, and an introduction of group mind & organic techniques, this class will expand your perception the montage as you know it. Join us as we bend and weave through the fundamentals of improv and gain an opportunity to exercise longer scenework and receive individualized feedback.
Prerequisite: Advanced Longform students must complete Level 1: Intro to Longform Improv with the Maine Improv Studio
Graduation show: This course includes a graduation show to give students the opportunity to show off their new skills to friends and family! (Thursday October 30th at 7pm @ Portland Media Center / $5 admission)
About your instructor: Daniel Karambelas first discovered improv while taking classes at ImprovBoston beginning in 2014. In 2016, he moved to Chicago to further his studies, completing the programs at Second City, iO, and the Annoyance training centers. After spending some years onstage in Chicago, Daniel is back home, performing and teaching in New England. Daniel draws from the different approaches and philosophies he has learned throughout his improv career, and incorporates them as both a performer and instructor. He is currently teaching improv with the Maine Improv Studio and can be seen performing about New England.
