Rough House builds connection through puppet arts that celebrate the weird things that make us unique and the weirder things that bring us together. Rough House’s work collides contemporary puppetry with physical theater, music, visual arts, and an insatiable taste for experimentation.

Rough House Puppet Arts has celebrates and fosters the puppet community through a combination of public workshops, artist incubation (Puppets-in-Progress), and performances with regular puppet slams (Nasty, Brutish & Short), working towards a vision of Chicago as a national hub of contemporary puppet theater comprising a diverse and ever-growing community of artists, all connected through our mutual love of puppet arts.
