In this one-night, 2.5-hour beginner improv workshop, we’ll play some simple, fun improv games that will reinforce the core principals of recovery that will allow you to experience the magic of being in the moment, what happens when you rid yourself of expectation and choose faith over fear, and the healing power of play.

I created the Higher Power Play: An Improv Workshop For People In Recovery because I’ve found there’s a strong parallel between the principles of improv I was teaching in my classes and the principles I try to live by as a recovering alcoholic. I’ve seen how powerful it is when we stop trying to “figure life out” and start actually experiencing it. Both on stage and in real life.

Instead of talking about letting go, trusting a Higher Power, or living one day at a time, we play with those ideas, so you can feel them in your body, not just think about them in your head. The goal of this workshop isn’t about being funny; it’s about having fun!

If you’re in recovery and you’re looking for a new way to deepen your spiritual connection, build confidence, and laugh a lot while you’re doing it, this workshop is for you.

– For ages 18 & Older
