Werk, Boogie is a one-person variety show about invisible labor and workers' struggles. It includes performance, dance, and music created and written by miss al boogie. This show integrates her research on worker protest songs, global worker struggles, and invisible labor. Her personal story around work and disability is the heartbeat of the show. The audience will laugh, sing together, learn about worker struggles, and identify their own invisible labor.

Director Yolanda Kae says, “With this solo play, Miss Al has taken on the combined role of a “Joan Of Arc” rallying the working and middle classes as well as a “Cassandra” warning the masses about extreme avarice and disaster Capitalism.

The RAT NYC is located at 68-117 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. We are a ground level storefront venue closer to the corner of Water Street. Look for the pink neon rat light in the window.

The closest train stations are the F at York Street (2 min walk), the A/C at High Street (6 min walk) or the 2/3 to Clark Street (12-15 min walk). We are also right near the East River Ferry at Pier 1, and there are plentiful CitiBike racks in the area. Street parking can be difficult; public parking lots are available throughout the neighborhood.
