Your Story Out Loud: Tell your true, personal story -- no matter what your level -- in this 5 week 2-hr class! You'll join 2-time Moth GrandSLAM Champion Micaela Blei to take real experiences from your life and shape them into stories that land. Whether you're a Moth Slam contender, an improviser deepening your personal material, or someone who wants the confidence to get in front of people and be heard — this class is for you. You'll leave with at least one polished story ready for sharing, plus the tools to keep telling new ones. (Also new friends.)

Prerequisite: None. No storytelling experience required.

Graduation show: This course includes a graduation show to give students the opportunity to share their stories-in-progress to friends and family! (Friday, May 22nd at 7:00pm @ Portland Media Center)

About your instructor: Micaela Blei is a two-time NYC Moth GrandSLAM champion and the former, founding Director of Education at The Moth, where she designed the storytelling curriculum now used by thousands worldwide. Micaela's own stories have been featured on This American Life and The Moth Radio Hour, and she’s told stories in sold-out theaters worldwide since 2012. Her 2024 Audible Original storytelling memoir "You Will Not Recognize Your Life" was a category bestseller, and her full-length memoir is forthcoming from HarperOne in 2027. Having coached hundreds of storytellers from nervous first-timers to seasoned professionals, she specializes in helping people figure out that they're actually very, very interesting.
