ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Callie Burk-Hartz is an Indianapolis-based actor, director, comedian, and theatre educator with over two decades of professional experience in the performing arts. She holds a B.F.A. in Theatre and Speech and an M.F.A. in Directing, and spent ten years working as a professional actor and stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, Vancouver, and New York City before returning to Indianapolis. She is the Owner and Artistic Director of Betty Rage Productions, a company dedicated to original comedy and bold storytelling,  and serves as Festival Director of the IndyFringe Festival. 

In addition to her work in scripted theatre, Callie is an experienced improv performer and producer. She hosts and produces Lady Bits, a long-running improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy show presented by Betty Rage Productions at IF Theatre, now in its fifth year. In Indianapolis, she has taught acting and directing at IUPUI, Anderson University, the Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Phoenix Theatre, and has served as Theatre Director and Performing Arts Teacher at University High School. She brings a rare combination of professional stage, comedy, and improv experience to every classroom, creating a space where students are challenged to take creative risks and develop their authentic voice as performers.
